COST OF A ROOKIE MEDICAL SALES REP

COST OF A ROOKIE MEDICAL SALES REP

It is always worth bearing in mind the costs incurred by a Medical Company when they take on a ‘Rookie’ Medical Sales Rep – one with no Medical Sales experience.

An average of €70k is spent on a ‘Rookie’  Medical Sales Rep.

This is broken down on Training, package inc car, and the 3-6 months lead time before this ‘Rookie’ will make any money for the Company.

This is why –

  • It is very difficult to get started in to Medical Sales
  • Medical Sales Managers will generally go for the person with more Sales at an interview process
  • Medical Sales Managers are cautious around Nurses

If you do decide this is a career you want to pursue – bearing this information in mind will help you understand what you are up against.

Sales Managers have to be as sure as they can be that you will end up recouping the initial expenditure and you will not become a Company liability.
