We have a fantastic new Medical Device Sales Rep for Northern Ireland – Belfast based and Scotland –

Must be based in Ireland – near Belfast but be happy to cover Scotland.

In N Ireland they will be covering the biggest in the UK but in Scotland it is business development.

Must have Medical device experience.

Job description
POSITION:  Territory Manager – Spinal and Biologics – Northern Ireland / Scotland


REPORTS TO: District Sales Manager  – Spinal – Ireland


To drive and support sales territories to strengthen business with existing customers/new in the defined regions, against a sales target set at the time of AOP.  Along with objectives set by the Sales Manager at time of AOP which must be completed by the end of the following fiscal year, to be reviewed during  appraisal.


” The prime objective is met when sales in the area equate with the forecasts prepared for and target set for the area at the time of AOP.
” To acquire a thorough working knowledge of the specialist products/therapies as allocated by the Sales Manager and develop a thorough understanding of all their applications.

Effective communication to maintain high levels of customer service
                        Management of booked , pending and post surgical instrumentation.
Maintain customer  In-Service  program
 Flexibility with respect to customer requests and clinical demand.

” To keep this knowledge up to date through regular sales meetings and product training sessions.
” To acquire and develop all necessary professional selling skills through meetings and training sessions and through attendance at outside training courses in accordance with the Company’s personal development programmes and by discussion, reading and constant practice.
” To plan the coverage across highlighted territories in the most effective and economical manner.  Performance will be considered satisfactory when:
” All customer records are up to date and contain full information on names, initials and positions of all contacts, best day and times to call on each contact, name of secretary etc.
” A non-financial report will be presented two days prior to month end.
” At the quarterly sales meeting the incumbent will be expected to present a quarterly overview of objectives with results and next quarter goals, both educational, surgical and personal.
” Where appropriate, assist the territory manager with quotes and negotiations which ensure a steady movement to a conclusion with a subsequent return of information to the office.
” A detailed call plan for the following week with at least 50% of the calls having firm appointments received in the office every Friday.
” Attendance at all sales meetings, national sales meetings and company organised training sessions is mandatory.
” All administrative duties will be diligently carried out and all necessary reports i.e. consignment forms and reviews, VIP/VSP forms, boot stock reports, stock movement forms etc. will be returned as and when requested.
” To liaise whenever necessary with Territory Managers, sales office staff, Finance Manager and staff, Customer Services, Business Support Administrator and Senior Sales Manager to ensure a proper level of customer service is maintained.
” To develop relationships with customers that enhance the image of the company by showing a professional attitude.
” To report on a day to day basis, activities in customer accounts, prevailing or changing business trends, customer complaints, competitor activity to the Sales Manager/Product Specialists.
” To carry out such additional duties as may become necessary from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the division.


” College or university technical or scientific education
” Knowledge of medical devices, including competitors.
” 2years + years sales experience ideally within medical industry in Northern Ireland / Scotland
” 2 years experience in the planning and implementation of professional meetings/programs.
” Excellent planning and organization skills
” Sales skills preferred
” High level of business acumen – experience with national tendering  level.
” Ability to comprehend and explain technical concepts at all levels
” High interpersonal and communication skills
” Computer literacy
” Able to prepare and present a business plan
” Self motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision
” Full clean drivers licence
